This footage seen over three million times shows a man walking into a classroom and punching a female teacher 13 times.
The shocking assault happened in Hengnan Xinghuo Experimental Primary School in the city of Hengyang, in Central China’s Hunan Province, on 16th November.
According to Hengnan County police, the victim named only as Ms Zhou was holding a parent-teacher meeting in her classroom when the incident took place.
Video from Ms Zhou’s class shows her speaking to one of her pupils’ family members when the as yet unidentified male suspect wearing a blue shirt walks in the door.
As Ms Zhou and the parent turn to look at the man, he suddenly lands a hard punch to the teacher’s head, sending her sliding forwards in her seat.
As she tries in vain to defend herself, and as the pupil’s relative tries to stop the suspect, he lands 12 more punches on Ms Zhou’s head and back before finally fleeing out the door.
The authorities the suspect escaped on a scooter and has yet to be found.
Ms Zhou said she did not know the suspect, whose identity was still unclear at the time of writing.
Social media users have speculated that the suspect may be a relative of one of her pupils, but the police have yet to comment further on the case as investigations continue.
Ms Zhou is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.
