This is the thug who has been sentenced to life imprisonment for stabbing his pretty ex- girlfriend 30 times after she dumped him over “violence and hate”.
Argentine defendant Carlos Archie Philips, 30, was found guilty of murdering Evelyn Tatiana Lehr, 25, on 13th June 2018 in Trelew in the eastern Argentine province of Chubut.
After the verdict, Philips was sentenced to life in prison which was what prosecutor Arnaldo Maza asked for.
Defence attorneys Marcela Rowlands and Sergio Rey tried to argue that “life imprisonment is unconstitutional”, however Maza successfully argued that Philips has “traits that indicate jealousy, possessiveness and he treated humans like objects”.
The victim was in her bathroom when Philips broke into her house and started to stab her with a 27-centimetre (10.6-inch) blade he had with him.
He stabbed her 30 times and the fatal wounds were two in the heart, one in her lung and another in her liver, according to reports.
The couple was together for two and a half years before Lehr ended things because the defendant was capable of an “unusual amount of violence and hate”.
During the trial, Philips said:”I do not remember how I got to Eve’s house, I only remember eating a sandwich. I do not remember anything else.”
He added: “I understand the pain and loss. I do not understand what led me to do this. I am very sorry for the sh*t I was going through at the time. I have never been violent or problematic.”
It is unclear if Philips intends to appeal the decision.
