Tragic Asher Menahem Paley died from his injuries in Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem on 11th February, a day after the attack.

His younger brother, six-year-old Yaakov Yisrael Paley, was killed instantly in the ramming.

A third victim – 20-year-old Alter Shlomo Lederman – was also killed in the attack.

The killer was identified as Hussein Qaraqa, 31, a Palestinian from East Jerusalem who had reportedly just been released from a psychiatric hospital.

Asher and his family had been waiting at the bus stop in the ultra-Orthodox neighbourhood of Ramot when Qaraqa ploughed through the queue.

His older brother, 10-year-old Moshie, sustained minor injuries and has already been discharged from Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.

At the time of reporting, their 42-year-old father remained in hospital in a “moderate” condition.

Two men in their twenties also remain hospitalised in a serious condition.

Although it is thought Qaraqa is mentally ill, police are treating the case as a terrorist attack and have arrested 10 members of his family.

According to reports, his social media include posts praising attacks against Israelis and expressing support for Palestinian Islamic militants.
