Teenage Gunman With Assault Rifle Shoos Kid Away Before Shooting His Pal Twice

This footage shows a teenage gunman armed with an assault rifle shooing a child away in the street before he raises his firearm and shoots his ‘friend’ twice.

Moments before firing, the 18-year-old gunman reportedly said to his friend: “I’ll treat you to some dessert.”

The incident took place in the district of Sultangazi in Turkey’s largest city, Istanbul, on Sunday, 6th February, according to the time stamp on the CCTV footage.

The suspect has been named only as S. G. due to strict local privacy laws, and the victim has been named as Eren Akcay, age not reported.

The shooting reportedly took place after S. G. allegedly lured his friend outside on the pretext of grabbing a sweet snack.

The footage shows the suspect waiting on the street corner and armed with an assault rifle, the make and model of which are unclear.

A child suddenly appears and the suspect can be seen apparently shooing the youngster away.

A few seconds go by before the suspect raises the rifle and appears to open fire twice. A man can be seen falling to the ground before disappearing from view behind the corner.

An older man wielding what appears to be a revolver can be seen approaching the scene, but by this point, the suspect had already fled.

The victim was reportedly hit in the leg by two bullets and responding paramedics took him to hospital. His status is reportedly stable and his injuries are not life-threatening.

The suspect reportedly went to his family home, where he told his parents what he had done. They reportedly called the police and the suspect was arrested.

It is unclear at the time of writing if the suspect had been formally charged, and the motive for the alleged shooting is also unknown.
