Teen Tells How Prosecutors Rejected Her Complaint

A young lady has told how police ignored a grooming complaint against a deputy mayor now accused of paying teens for sex when she reported him three years ago.

The 18-year-old victim whose name was not disclosed by media told how suspect Daniel Wolski had messaged her on Instagram when she was just 15 offering her “pocket money”.

Screenshots from her cell phone revealed how the City Hall official from Luenen, in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia State, approached her saying: “Hello, you’re pretty. How are you?”

She replied: “Hello? First of all, I’m only 15 years old.”

Wolski then said in the exchange in December 2020: “Good morning. Oh, I hadn’t thought of that. You’re really pretty. You look 19.

“Yes in your pictures. Not bad, they impressed me. Where are you from? I’m from Luenen.”

The girl replied: “Does not matter. Don’t like writing to you. Bye.”

Apparently untroubled by her age Wolski signed off with the creepy offer: “OK, too bad. If you’re interested in pocket money, let me know.”

But when she reported the deputy mayor to police, they reportedly refused to take her complaint seriously.

She says the case was finally rejected by the Dortmund Public Prosecutor’s office and no investigation against the 41-year-old politician was ever initiated.

Wolski was only seized three years later on 27th October, after reportedly sexually abusing teenage girls and boys between the ages of 13 and 17.

The young woman said: “A fate that some victims might have been spared if I had been taken seriously at the time and the allegations had been investigated.”

Wolski was only finally exposed after a 16-year-old girl and her friend visited his home last year.

Public prosecutors say he gave the children money in exchange for performing three sexual acts.

While searching his home, police found 40 flash drives containing child porn. His chat history has been filed in a total of ten folders.

The young woman said: “Just like me, he probably offered to pay money in return.”

Her angry father Thorsten W. says it’s incredible that her complaint was rejected.

He said: “I was stunned when the letter of rejection was in the mail six weeks after the complaint.”

Thorsten said the public prosecutor classified the case as simple ‘harassment, aloofness and lack of taste’.

His daughter continued: “So something would have had to happen to me first.

“The fact that a grown man offers a 15-year-old money to meet up is probably not enough.”

She added in a message to victims: “Confide in someone if you have a bad feeling. Go to the police and don’t be ashamed.”

Wolski is now facing the case in custody, reports local media, because prosecutors feared he was trying to influence the investigation.

As soon as he was aware of the inquiry, it emerged, he contacted the victims and threatened them.

His lawyer, Arabella Pooth, 40, was surprised at the arrest and told local media: “We cannot comment at the moment. We have requested access to the files.”

The Mayor of Luenen, Juergen Kleine-Frauns, 56, said: “Without exception, I condemn all forms of sexual abuse.

“I learned about the imprisonment of our city’s first deputy mayor from the media. The suspicion affects me very much.

“I hope that the investigation will be concluded quickly.”

The investigation is ongoing.
