Pic shows: Franco Rodrigo Gaspar Cinco, convicted of the murder of his girlfriend and her son. A 28-year-old journalist has been sentenced to life in prison for giving his girlfriend and her toddler son cyanide disguised as holy water and killing them both. Franco Rodrigo Gaspar Cinco from Salta Province in north-west Argentina was convicted of murdering his partner Alejandra Parraga, 26, and her two-year-old son Amir Parraga. According to reports, Gaspar Cinco killed the pair in June 2017 when he visited his girlfriend’s home carrying a bottle of holy water that he said would help with the tot’s sickness. As soon as he drank some, the toddler collapsed. His mother instantly tried to perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on her two-year-old, but came into direct contact with the poisonous chemical compound. The young boy’s grandparents rushed him to hospital but he died shortly after being admitted. His mother perished before arriving at the Hospital San Bernardo. Gaspar Cinco was arrested the next day during the victims' funeral. Before the boy’s death, prosecutors said that the 28-year-old journalist allegedly tried to get rid of his girlfriend’s son in other ways because the youngster’s presence bothered him. Throughout the trial, the suspect maintained his innocence. In court, Gaspar Cinco said: "I never intended to end Alejandra’s life nor her son’s. I had plans with Alejandra, she was the love of my life. "I have a four-year-old son. So, as a parent, how do you think that I could do that to somebody else? "I cannot control what has happened to me, but I did not have the intention or ability to carry out what has been assumed." (ends)

Pic shows: Elmira Musazadeh, the journalist dangerously reporting while helicopters fly near her This is the hair-raising moment a reporter stands on a military runway as attack helicopters take off inches from her head. Beautiful brunette Elmira Musazadeh works for the SBS TV-channel in her native Azerbaijan. Musazadeh was reporting on the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces from a military air base where attack helicopters were taking off inches from her head to take part in exercises. In video footage, the young reporter is seen standing on a military runway recording a news segment on the centenary anniversary. As she speaks to the camera, attack helicopters whizz past her head, missing her by inches. Unfazed by the incredible noise and relative danger, Musazadeh professionally completes her report and does not even flinch when the choppers fly past her. The sound is so loud that it is barely possible to make out what she is saying during the broadcast. Producer Saadat Mammadova was pleased with Musazadeh’s efforts, saying that she had "left her mark" as a reporter. However, not all netizens were impressed with her reporting. ‘LalaAliyeva-Klychkova’ said: "This was not brave. She completely ignored safety rules. I am confused about the hype she is getting." ‘FadailAgaev’ commented: "This is remarkably stupid." ‘Zabava Putyatishna’ wrote: "She is lucky to still have her head on her shoulders. What idiot told her to stand there?" However, ‘Adyl Guseynzade’ disagreed: "What a brave reporter. She trusted the pilots and was professional throughout."

Pic shows: Greek journalist, Anthi Pazianou, has become the target of a personal attack by a far-right group of individuals. A journalist is taking legal action against anti-refugee activists who targeted her for highlighting the story of a nine-year-old girl who was attacked for wearing a headscarf. Anthi Pazianou, who writes for papers on the Greek island of Lesbos, wrote that far-right extremists had attacked the girl in a churchyard after mistaking her for a migrant. They reportedly thought the local girl, from the town of Gera, was a Muslim because of her headscarf when in fact she was wearing it for medical reasons. Police were called to the scene and the attackers apologised to the mother of the child who decided not to file a complaint against them. Ms Pazianou, a journalist with the 'Embros' and 'I Kathimerini' newspapers on the island, reportedly offended the group by reporting the story. It led to Ms Pazianou, who is the mother of a three-year-old child, becoming the victim of personal attacks on social media, according to reports. A photo of Ms Pazianou with migrants at the island's Moria refugee camp was featured on a Facebook group page, along with offensive messages. Ms Pazianou commented: "This far-right and hideous attack is purely sexist and repeats what is being said about professional journalists on the island of Lesbos." She has filed a lawsuit against four individuals, three men and a woman, and requested they be taken into custody. Two of the four were arrested but later freed. The administrator of the Facebook page has not been named but is said to be a merchant and former member of the Greek navy from Gera town. Members of the Facebook group have reportedly made posts calling for patrols to drive immigrants and asylum seekers off the island. However, they do not describe themselves as a far-right group but as frustrated citizens who see their island being overrun by refugees. Lesbos lies close to the Turkish coast and is a major
