Pic shows: German car driver who blindly followed the orders of his sat nav without questioning where he was going ended up stuck in the snow. By Koen Berghuis A driver blindly following his sat nav’s instructions ended up stuck on a ski slope. The German motorist made the blunder in Krimml, a town in the Pinzgau region of Austria. He was on his way to his hotel in the higher part of the town, but his satnav guided him over an alpine walking path instead of roads. Krimml’s fire and rescue service got an unusual phone call at around 9.30pm that a car was stranded in the snow near a cable car station on the ski slopes. Fire brigade commander Robert Mair said it took 13 firefighters to pull the stranded car from the snow with a cable winch. The operation took about an hour and a half. Mr Mair added: "He went on despite a sign banning vehicles." Local media reported that the unnamed German driver was not the first to make that type of mistake. Just over a month ago, a 72-year-old German tourist in Zell am See was misled by his sat nav into driving onto a steep mountain slope. It took a speciality ski patrol to bring the driver and his three passengers back into the valley. The local fire brigade of Zell am See later managed to recover the car. (ends)

Pic shows: The hole in the car park wall This viral video with over two million views shows a huge hole in the wall of an underground car park after an Audi driver crashed through it leaving a trail of debris in its wake. The accident happened at the car park in Guoxin Yuhu Residence, a complex in the city of Changchun which is the capital of north-eastern China’s Jilin Province. A video taken by a local resident on 8th December shows the car-sized hole having been punched into the concrete wall by the owner of the Audi A3. The motorist, who has not been named, is said to have been one of two people in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Reports have suggested the driver was "not familiar" with the layout of the underground car park, causing him to crash straight into the wall and winding up in an adjacent section of the parking area. But many online commentators rejected this, and said it was clear the driver had mixed up the pedals. Images show the front of the Audi completely destroyed and the front airbags having deployed by the time the vehicle comes to a stop on the other side with its hazard lights on. The man filming the wreckage can be heard saying: "Look at the size of this hole! How fast was the car going?" Witnesses said neither driver nor passenger were injured during the crash, which is still being investigated by Changchun police. The hole has since been blocked off with a piece of cloth.
