This Croatian sports journalist has claimed that her blonde locks are falling out as a result of contracting COVID-19 at the same tennis tournament where Novak Djokovic and Goran Ivanisevic were infected.

Mirna Zidaric, 50, a sports journalist and an editor of HRT, a Croatian public broadcasting company, posted a photo of a clutch of hairs lying in the palm of her hand on 17th August.

She accompanied the snap with the message: “Hello to all the sceptics, I know this is not the worst thing that can happen as a result of COVID-19, but to many, this may be a turning point…”

Zidaric added: “This is not some kind of opinion, but bear this in mind every time you want to take off your mask or refuse to wear it. This is after brushing my hair only once and it is the same as every day.”

According to studies, hair loss can occur when the body is placed under stress dealing with the virus and is considered one of the 25 most frequent symptoms.

Zidaric told news source Slobodna Dalmacija: “I did not pay much attention to this until I read some research confirming it. Besides, it is summer so I don’t care too much. But as you can see, it is more than obvious…”

Zidaric said she contracted the virus at the Adria Tour tennis tournament in the Croatian city of Zadar and tested positive in June.

Novak Djokovic, Goran Ivanisevic, and Borna Coric were some of the tennis stars who also reportedly contracted the virus at the same tournament.
