Skilled Elderly Cyclist Stuns Park Visitors By Riding Backwards Down Bridge

A skilled cyclist has wowed park visitors with his incredible stunts as she rode down a bridge backwards, then rode in circles while standing on the seat and handles.

Phone footage captured by a bystander shows the man, whose identity was not revealed, on top of a stone bridge at a park in Changchun, in China’s north-eastern Jilin Province.

Passerby lined up along a path leading away from the bridge and watched in awe as the man, wearing a blue padded jacket and a knit hat, rode downhill backwards with his hands in his pockets.

Then, he slowly got his hands out and hopped one leg over the other side of the bike, smoothly transitioning to face forwards.

He circled around a small roundabout and returned towards the camera, this time standing with one foot on the seat and the other on the handles, eliciting cheers from the onlookers.

More people joined in to watch as the man then expertly rode in circles while standing on top of his bike.

He finished off the acrobatic show by jumping off the bike that inertly continued going in circles.

He spun the bicycle’s front wheel as one final trick for his audience and waved before getting back on the bike and riding away.

The man’s acrobatic manoeuvres also gained a lot of online attention, notching up more than 180,000 likes, over 520,000 shares and nearly 50,000 comments on Douyin, the Chinese TikTok, where the video emerged on 31st March.
