This footage shows a 14-year-old girl allegedly caught shoplifting being stripped down to her underwear and thrown out into the street by a shop worker – who also wrote on her face with a pen.
The scene took place in the city of Alexandria, Teleorman County, southern Romania when two 14-year-old girls were allegedly caught stealing in a local shop.
In the video, one of the girls can be seen taking off the clothes she allegedly stole and she strips off four pairs of trousers. One of the workers in the shop marks the two girls’ faces with a pen before the girl taking off her clothes is forced to strip down to her underwear.
She is then forced to walk outside but she tries to stay in the shop. The shop worker then forcibly drags her into the busy street.
The girl’s clothes are thrown on the ground and she scampers to quickly put them on in front of onlookers.
The head of the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection in the TeleoHman County, Mugurel Putineanu, said: “We have identified the minors, both of the eight graders are originally from the Tsiganeshti commune.
“We are already providing psychological assistance to one of them. She used to have the same issues in the past and have already stayed at our institution, being raised by her grandmother only.
“The other girl, who was slapped and undressed at the store has a worse situation: she is theoretically supposed to be under her mother’s care, but her mum is abroad now. Both of them will be provided with psychological care”.
According to a spokesperson of the Teleorman County Police Department: “The Alexandria Police officers are currently investigating both of the cases: the one with the girls suspected in theft and the other with the store staff’s behaviour, who are being investigated for beating the girl and a public order disturbance”.
