This is the shocking moment a boy uses a live crow for boxing practice in front of giggling onlookers.

The incident was filmed by a school friend of the two boys seen in the video in the city of Petrozavodsk in the north-western Russian republic of Karelia, and the footage was later shared on social media where it has been viewed 36,000 times.

The boys in the video are reportedly students from a local forestry technical school, and the aggressor who killed the crow has been identified as Alexander Dorofeev.

After the footage was widely shared on social media, where the schoolboys’ actions were roundly slammed by netizens, Dorofeev posted an online appeal asking for forgiveness and promising to never do it again, according to reports.

The boy holding the bird, named as Dmitry Tkachuk, and the cameraperson, Pavel Zavarin, have both reportedly closed their social media accounts after the incident.

A spokesperson for the local department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs said: “Inspectors will carry out preventive work with the students’ parents and the adolescents themselves as well as visit the school they all attend.”

It is currently unclear when the inspectors will visit the boys’ parents and if the police are involved in the matter.
