This is the shocking moment a baby suddenly falls out of a moving car’s window on a main road.
The incident was filmed in the city of Wuhan in the Chinese province of Hubei and was widely circulated on social media this week.
In the footage, the filming motorist is seen driving behind the mother’s car as a baby suddenly falls head-first from a window.
The back wheel of the mother’s car then apparently drives over the infant’s leg.
The filming driver gasps in shock and sounds his horn while simultaneously taking evasive action to avoid hitting the tot lying face-down on the tarmac.
The mother then stops her car and is seen running towards the fallen tot as the video ends.
According to local media, the emergency services were called to the scene and paramedics checked the baby, diagnosing non-life-threatening injuries.
The exact injuries suffered by the infant were not reported.
It also remains unclear if the police are investigating the mother for failing to secure her child in the car.
Many netizens on the Chinese social network Douyin criticised the mother for carelessness.
