Police in Germany are searching for a teenage girl who has last been seen chatting with two men at a station.
Aurora Matrone, 16, from the city of Remscheid, North Rhine-Westphalia, has last been in touch with her mum Natalie, 35, on 16th August.
Natalie said: “After school, she had a dentist’s appointment, and then she met with some friends.”
The worried mum revealed: “I texted her at 6.30pm: ‘Don’t be late!’ and she replied ‘I love you.'”
The short-haired teen was due to be at home by 9.15pm. Natalie drove around the whole city to find her before reporting her missing at 1am.
She told local media: “I’m a wreck. I haven’t eaten or slept for days.”
Natalie assumes that her daughter could be on her way to Italy to reunite with a 21-year-old lad she had fallen in love with during a family holiday in Tuscany.
But she said: “He hasn’t had a sign of life from her for days either and is extremely worried too.”
The concerned mum underlined: “We never argued. She struggled a bit in school but put in some real effort lately.”
Natalie was told by the parents of friends of Aurora that she had attended a party in nearby Witten on 19th August, three days after she failed to come home at night.
The 16-year-old was last seen at the main station of Bottrop in the early morning of the following day (20th August).
In a statement from 21st August obtained by Newsflash, Wuppertal Police said: “Sixteen-year-old Aurora M. from Remscheid went missing on 16th August 2023.”
The statement continues: “She is understood to have stayed with friends in Witten before leaving for Bottrop Station on 19th August 2023.
“She talked to two male individuals and joined them. There has been no trace of the missing person ever since.”
It has not been determined whether the trio took a train or went somewhere else.
According to the police, Aurora is around 168 centimetres (66 inches) tall and slim.
The authority said: “She has short, dark-blonde hair and was wearing light-blue trousers, a white top and white sneakers.”
Mum Natalie told the Bild newspaper: “I have a feeling that Aurora is still alive. But I fear that she’s not well. Maybe she has been detained somewhere.”
Natalie revealed that Aurora’s 14-year-old sister Gianna was still searching the streets of the neighbourhood each day in a desperate bid to find her.
The mum-of-two concluded: “Aurora, please come back home. Everything will be okay.”
