This is the viral moment a Russian influencer whizzes around the interior of a shopping centre in his sporty BMW, prompting a police investigation.

Russian influencer Mikhail Litvin shared the video on Instagram for his 14.2 million followers last week, where it has gone viral with 4.1 million views and 16,000 comments.

The incident took place in a shopping centre in the Russian capital Moscow ahead of the Christmas period.

A spokesperson for the shopping centre said Litvin had arranged with them to film a promotion for one of his online training courses, but the “script that was sent to our sales representatives included content with balloons and classical music. The actual content of the video is radically different from the script that the influencer’s team originally sent in”.

A spokesperson for the regional public prosecutor’s office said: “We have organised an investigation after the video of an influencer manoeuvring a car in a shopping centre in the urban district of Odintsovo was published on social networks.”

The public prosecutor’s office also said he had handed his licence over in August and has not carried out a corresponding exam to have it back.

Litvin was reportedly banned from driving for four months after speeding along the opposite lane on Presnenskaya Embankment.

Also earlier this year, he was investigated for duct-taping a friend to the landing gear of a helicopter before take-off.

In February, he was also filmed driving a new Porsche through the window of a showroom in another post that went viral on social media.
