This is the moment an impatient Russian Army convoy decides to skip a traffic jam by driving down the pavement inches from pedestrians in armoured vehicles equipped with machine guns.

The incident occurred in the city of Samara in the Samara Oblast region in western Russia and were recorded by an onlooker who was stuck in a traffic jam.

In the video, cars can be seen stuck in traffic when an armoured vehicle with a soldier sitting in a turret suddenly drives past on the pavement, just a few metres behind a couple with their young child.

Three other armoured vehicles, all equipped with machine guns, then come past on the pavement to skip the traffic jam and the family of three can be seen standing out of the way to let them past.

The person recording can be heard saying: “And the military has some other traffic rules? Where are the escort vehicles? Where are the sirens? Who allowed you to drive on the pavement?”

The Commander of the Samara Garrison told local media that the vehicles in the video had been lagging behind the rest of the convoy and so decided to drive several metres on the pavement to “return to the convoy and not create an emergency for oncoming vehicles.”
