ROOF FALL: Cops Shoot And Arrest Gunman On House Top

This is the moment Los Angeles County deputies shoot and arrest a gunman who was firing shots at them after he climbed on top of a roof.

Newsflash obtained the footage from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, along with a statement that said deputies responded to a call about a person on a rooftop of a residence making a lot of noise that sounded as if he was setting off fireworks.

The incident took place in Los Angeles County, in the US state of California.

When deputies arrived, they checked the area and were unable to locate the individual, later identified as Javier Torres, 29.

But a little while later, deputies received another call that the same person had returned and this time it appeared that he was firing gunshots.

Torres again fled before deputies arrived.

Deputies scoured the area and brought in an air assist to aid in the search.

Meanwhile, as gunshots were reportedly heard going off once more, deputies had located Torres, who climbed atop another roof of a nearby residence.

Torres proceeded to fire with a handgun at the LAPD air unit and at the deputies on the ground.

Body-worn footage shows one deputy returning fire and reportedly striking Torres, causing him to drop his weapon and lay down on the roof.

Special enforcement units also responded to the scene to help capture Torres.

A special medical team arrived soon after to provide Torres with medical aid.

He was reportedly moved from the roof to the ground before being transported to a local hospital.

No one else was injured in the shootout.

Torres was later cleared for booking and was charged with two counts of attempted murder and multiple counts of assault.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
