A teen friend of the 16-year-old virgin who reported a group of pals for spiking her drink and raping her in turn during a party in her parent’s home has reportedly confessed to the crime.
The victim, identified as Anna, reportedly attends a private school in the US but was visiting her mother on Krestovsky Island in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During one evening when her parents were out of the house, Anna organised a party and a group of six teen boys, all from affluent families, came over with bags of booze and even ordered a stripper, according to local media.
However, Anna said the party was not nearly as grand as that and claimed that she “didn’t drink that much, but at some point everything went dark”.
She added: “The only thing I remember is the sharp pain in my genital area.”
According to Anna, a boy named Andrei came to her bedroom first followed by his friend Mikhail.
The teen, who was a virgin until this night, claimed she was forced to have sex with both boys in turn.
Local media said a medical examination showed the victim was a virgin before the alleged rapes after the girl’s mother reported the incident to the police.
Meanwhile, Andrei and Mikhail both claimed the sex was consensual and no violence was used.
Another boy called Yaroslav was suspected of being involved in the alleged rape, however, he was recently cleared of taking part and will act as a witness in the case, according to local media.
A teen called Sergei, who Anna helped with English classes, is also suspected of involvement.
The victim’s mother Elvira said that she knows most of the suspects well and believes they planned it in advance.
The mother said: “Most likely, they added something to her drink, some kind of sleeping pill. She was knocked out and she practically does not remember anything.”
The teen suspects provided a voice message to the authorities from Anna the following day that said: “Well, the main thing is that we know no one is upset with anyone. I hope we will still see each other.”
Anna does not deny sending the message to Andrei, but said she did so out of fear of public opinion and disappointment from her parents.
Psychologists confirmed that Anna may not have fully realised she was raped at the time of recording the message.
The investigation is being led by the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, 67.
According to the local news site Komsomolskaya Pravda, one of the teens at the party, identified as Artur, 18, has confessed to the rape.
The police detained the young man and placed him in a temporary detention centre on 16th March.
If the events at the St. Petersburg party are confirmed in court, the defendants could face between 12 and 20 years in prison.
The case continues.
