A wealthy fashion model has been slammed by netizens for posting a snap of her washing her jewellery-laden hands under an elaborate gold tap in the shape of a swan as a safety tip amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Anika Bozic Al-Sarraj, better known as Anika Bozic, shared the gaudy snap on Instagram with the message: “Wash your hands frequently and take your vitamins.”
The Serbian fashion model, who also considers herself a “style influencer and jewellery designer based between Paris and the Middle East”, included the hashtags for ‘staysafe’, ‘covid2019’ and ‘prayanddonate’.
In the photo, Anika is seen washing her jewellery-laden hand under an elaborate gold tap while a couple of diamond-encrusted earrings sit on the marble unit.
She posted the photo shortly after the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 as a pandemic, however not everyone was impressed by the model’s apparent show of solidarity.
Netizen ‘Luchy Ch’ said: “We are a bit poorer than you so we cannot protect ourselves in such fashion, but we will do it the common way.”
‘Tajkun’ commented: “You are telling us how to wash our hands? Wow, brilliant idea. I suppose the most important thing though is that you showed us your gold tap – and that you have nothing in your head of any importance whatsoever.”
‘Lazar’ wrote: “So the opinion of a starlet model is more important than the people fighting it? What kind of society are we!”
