This is the horrifying moment a would-be rescuer plunges 60 feet from a high-rise apartment block as he tries to save a suicidal teen.
Renzo Carbajal was seriously injured as he was trying to save the 15-year-old girl in Rimac, Lima Province, Peru on 5th January.
Grim footage of the rescue shows Renzo emerging from a fifth-storey window trying to climb down to the floor below.
As the girl perches precariously on the edge of a balcony, Renzo eases himself down a gap between two buildings to get to her.
But as his toes touch the balcony below he loses his grip and plunges head first down to the concrete below.
As a crowd of witnesses gasp in horror he hits the ground with a sickening thud as the footage ends.
Astonishingly, Renzo survived and was rushed to Guillermo Almenara National Hospital where he is said to be in critical condition.
His family have been asking for blood and platelet donations on social media.
The teenager is said not to have suffered any injuries, according to local media.
