‘QUALITY NEVER EXPENSIVE’: Salt Bae Shares GBP 140,000 Bill From His Restaurant In Abu Dhabi Causing Outrage

The notorious Turkish steak chef Salt Bae has caused controversy again, this time by sharing a GBP 140,000 bill from his Abu Dhabi restaurant and saying “quality never expensive”.

Salt Bae – real name Nusret Gokce – who went viral in 2017 for his unique way of salting steak, shared the bill with his army of 49 million followers on Instagram on Thursday, 17th November.

The bill is from Salt Bae’s Nusr-Et Steakhouse in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates and is dated 17th November.

Its total amount is a staggering AED 615,065 (GBP 140,656), with four servings of French fries priced at AED 180 (GBP 41.15), one Heineken beer going for AED 55 (GBP 12.57), and two Golden Ottoman steaks priced at AED 5,500 (GBP 1,257.39), with two, 300-gramme Golden Sirt steaks fetching AED 4,500 (GBP 1,028.77).

The punters also appear to have glugged down two bottles of 2009 Petrus for AED 200,000 (GBP 45,723.32) as well as other expensive drinks.

At the time of writing, it had 651,207 likes but the reaction appears to be mixed, to say the least.
