A pretty Brazilian nurse has been arrested for murdering a loan shark and his henchman when they demanded her family repay a debt.

Nurse Isabelle Cristina SimplIcio Brandao, 28, allegedly murdered Deoclecio Rodrigues Silva de Sousa, 37, a loan shark, and his sidekick after her family failed to pay back her loan in Parnaiba, a city in the Brazilian state of Piaui, on Tuesday, 14th February.

She reportedly told the victim she would settle the debt but when he showed up she pulled out a gun and allegedly shot him dead.

A second man, named as Jose de Maria Vieira Lira, 57, was also reportedly killed and a third man, named only as Pedro, was wounded and taken to hospital.

SimplIcio Brandao then went home before going on the run.

The alleged killer was arrested on 15th February by Military Police and has been accused of double murder over the BRL 12,000 (GBP 1,936) debt.

She has reportedly not spoken to investigators about the incident.

The superintendent of Integrated Operations of the Secretariat of Public Security of Piaui, named as Matheus Zanatta, said that the two victims had been arrested by the Federal Highway Police the day before they were murdered.

They were found with BRL 84,000 (GBP 13,557) in cash and cheques.

They were taken to a police station, with the money being seized. They were then released.

Zanatta said: “Of the three people, two of them already have priors, including violent crimes, and there are indications that they were involved with a criminal organisation.

“This person who survived is Pedro, he is hospitalised and is not at risk of dying. We still haven’t heard from him, but the fact is that the accused was indebted to the victims, who went to demand the cash.

“There is information that the victims were with a Hilux, which would belong to Isabelle’s family, but this needs to be confirmed in the investigation.”

The investigation is ongoing.
