A popular singer has admitted to undergoing a penis enlargement procedure.
The sertanejo (Brazilian country music) singer Tiago Hercules da Silva from the duo Hugo & Tiago revealed he underwent the procedure purely for cosmetic reasons and that he had no problems in his sex life.
The 37-year-old vocalist, who hails from the Brazilian municipality of Fartura, is no stranger to cosmetic surgery, having undergone profile harmonisation, hair transplantation, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty and even liposuction when he was just 21 years old.
He now has another procedure under his belt – quite literally – after undergoing penis enlargement in the city of Blumenau on Tuesday, 6th July.
He told Hugo Gloss: “I have always been a fan of all the possibilities that medicine and cosmetics offer us. Penile enlargement has been possible for a long time, but only for those with real problems. Now, the possibility of doing it for aesthetic reasons has emerged, and the doctor is a guy I know. I became curious.”
He said he underwent the enhancement to “have new sensations and discover what it’s like”.
He told Hugo Gloss: “People have the right to do what makes them happy, be it aesthetically or emotionally. That’s why I opted for the procedure, for my personal satisfaction, purely aesthetic.
“My idea is also to encourage people, because I know there are many couples that break up because of problems, there are a lot of men who are unhappy their whole lives because of it. They are ashamed, they lack courage, they don’t speak, they don’t have information. And also for those who are average and want to improve, there is an opportunity.”
On going public with the procedure, the singer added: “As everything is modernising, as so many taboos have been broken, why not make this information reach more people?”
Tiago revealed that his partner of five months, the singer Tania Mara, tried to dissuade him from undergoing the surgical procedure.
Despite coming close, she eventually desisted, understanding that “it’s a private thing of mine, independent of any relationship”.
Aware of a possible backlash, the singer told Hugo Gloss: “I know the internet is unforgiving and may joke about it, but it doesn’t affect me. I’m a guy who’s sure of who I am and what I do. My goal is to put the topic up for discussion and encourage other people.”
Penis enlargement is carried out by cutting the ligament that attaches the penis to the pubic bone and performing a skin graft at the base of the penis to allow for the extra length.
Hugo & Tiago’s songs ‘Apaixonado’ and ‘O Amor de Antes’ were top 10 hits in Brazil in 2004 and 2009 respectively. Their 2013 song ‘Gaguinho’ has 31 million views on YouTube.
