Polish Banksy Depicts Zelenskyy as Harry Potter And Putin As Lord Voldemort As J. K. Rowling Pledges 1M For Kids

Polish graffiti artist Kawu has depicted Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy as Harry Potter and Russian president Vladimir Putin as Lord Voldemort as their creator J. K. Rowling pledges at least a million to help child victims of the war.

The wizarding street art has appeared in the western Polish city of Poznan.

Kawu depicted Ukrainian president and former actor Volodymyr Zelenskyy, 44, as a bespectacled Harry Potter complete with a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead and a Ukrainian flag.

Meanwhile, the Russian president appeared as the fearsome villain in the Harry Potter series of books and films, Tom Marvolo Riddle, better known as Lord Voldemort.

Putin appears with reptilian facial features and a green robe as Ukraine burns in the background and he outstretches his arms.

Written by J. K. Rowling, the Harry Potter series concluded with the titular character defeating Lord Voldemort in a duel to the death.

Meanwhile, Rowling has pledged to donate EUR 1.2 million to the children of Ukraine through her Lumos Foundation.

The author launched Lumos in 2005 “to end the systematic institutionalisation of children”, and the foundation is currently calling for an end to the conflict to protect the 100,000 children based in Ukrainian institutions.

The foundation is also raising money for food, emergency equipment and medical gear as well as funding families who foster and care for displaced youngsters.

Rowling tweeted: “I will personally match donations to this appeal, up to GBP 1m.”
