A woman driver had a terrifying experience when a metal rod flew off a lorry and smashed into her car like a javelin – hitting the bonnet and then flying through the windscreen into the empty passenger seat.
The shocking incident was captured in a 17-second video shared by Cass Cheng Sook Leng on her Facebook account.
Photos also show the pole from inside and outside the car showing that it actually hit the bonnet first before flying into the windscreen.
In a message about the incident which happened on the country’s North-South Highway on 13th January, she said: “Sharing this for more awareness on the highway, this just happened to me at 1.42 pm today. Unfortunately, my car cam was unable to capture the vehicle plate number.
“It does look like final destination movie but is not, I thought I would die and my dogs were with me, it was pretty close.
“Lucky I was driving slow at #plushighway.”
She said that she hopes Road Transport Department and Transport Minister Anthony Loke could act by enforcing stricter regulations on heavy vehicles, saying: “I hope #JPJMalaysia #AnthonyLoke will see this and give strict regulations on trucks #accident.”
She later revealed that she had contacted the police about the incident and added that the windscreen had already been repaired.
It is not known if police are investigating the case.
