This is the terrifying moment a cache of fireworks explodes in a huge, fiery bang, injuring 14.
The incident took place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast Day Celebration in Queretaro, Mexico, early on Monday morning (12th December).
Local media reported that the fireworks display had been organised clandestinely and was not an official event.
The footage shows how the fireworks, which were being stored in a parking area next to a church, exploded in a bang, followed by people’s screams.
People nearby called emergency services and paramedics quickly arrived on the scene to provide first aid.
Local media reported that 14 people were injured in the blast.
Three were able to make their own way to hospital, while one had to be taken there by emergency services. His condition was reported to be serious.
The injuries sustained by the remaining victims are said to be minor.
Damage to San Miguel Arcangel Church and to at least 10 vehicles was also reported.
Local media said it was not the only incident involving clandestine fireworks during the feast day celebration.
Another celebration in San Felipe Teotitlan at the same time is said to have left at least 26 injured.
That incident occurred when a vehicle transporting the fireworks to their destination caught fire and exploded.
Some reports say the blast was caused by a spark, while others say a rocket hit a power line, which fell onto the vehicle.
The injured were taken to different hospitals in the region. Among them is a nine-year-old girl.
According to authorities in Mexico, medical treatment for burns caused by fireworks has increased by 300 per cent this month.
The most common injuries reported are to the arms, eyes, head, and neck.
