This is the moment a woman rushing into her office accidentally crashes through a huge window instead of using the glass door a few inches away.

The young woman named only as Ms Ye was heading into the headquarters of Chinese carmaker Geely in the city of Hangzhou in East China’s Zhejiang Province when she smashed headfirst through the large pane of tempered glass.

Footage taken just before 7 am local time on 27th November shows Ms Ye walking at speed and shattering the glass into countless pieces before the office worker ends up stunned and on the floor.

The accident happens just a few inches from a set of glass doors, with long metal handles seen nearby.

Ms Ye sit sup and holds her face in pain before picking herself up off the floor.

She was later taken to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine for treatment.

Reports said she suffered cuts to her forehead and right hand, but none of her injuries were life-threatening.

Staff members at the Geely headquarters said the tempered glass was 1 centimetre (0.4 inches) thick.

It was spotless and did not bear any warnings, likely leading to Ms Ye mistaking it for an open door.

The office has already ordered a replacement and is not expected to ask Ms Ye to cover the cost of repairs.
