Porn legend Cicciolina has said at the tender age of 70 that sex is not a sin and that she is confident she is going to heaven because she is like “John Lennon in a skirt”.
Cicciolina, real name Ilona Staller, 70, is a legendary Hungarian-Italian porn star who achieved widespread fame in the 1970s after meeting famous pornographer Riccardo Schicchi.
Staller would later go on to run for political office, first being elected to the Italian Parliament in 1987. She famously offered to have sex with the then dictator of Iraq, Saddam Hussein during the Gulf War in exchange for peace.
The former porn star married American artist Jeff Koons in 1991 and had a son, Ludwig, with him the following year, but the relationship ended in 1994.
Speaking to Corriere della Sera Sette in an exclusive interview on Friday, 11th February, Staller explained how she became successful after moving to Italy from Budapest.
She spoke about her first husband, a man from the southern Italian region of Calabria called Sartori who was 25 years older than her. She spoke about Jeff Koons, of whom she said: “As soon as I saw him I said ‘with this one, I will make a son’.”
And she spoke about Riccardo Schicchi, the famous Italian pornographer, saying: “We were together from ’74 to ’88, but he didn’t want me to say it so as not to disappoint the fans.
“He left me six messages on the answering machine, giving me his number, but I didn’t call him back. Then one evening, while I was taking my Yorkshire Terrier Bubu for a walk, I found him under the house. We went for a walk.”
She also said, speaking about her relationship with Koons: “Koons knocked me out financially. When I left him, I was still in love. He did terrible things to me, it was a disastrous relationship. Once in Munich in the middle of winter, complete with snow, he locked me out on the terrace, I had a big belly. I had to shout at Herbert, the doorman, to call the police. It was cruel.”
Staller also spoke about the difficult moment when her son discovered her career as a porn star after classmates at school showed him videos of his mother having sex with other men.
Staller said: “At school, from his classmates, who showed him videos. I tried not to tell him. I told him I had been a certain type of model… After all, my mother discovered I had been a porn star after they elected me to Parliament and the Hungarian newspapers dedicated page after page to me.”
Speaking about how her son reacted upon discovering his mother’s unorthodox profession, she added: “He told me he had only watched one, in which there was an actress who used my name, but it wasn’t me.
“That was it. He is a loving, nice and handsome guy. He has my eyes. I am sorry that his father makes him suffer: he was in Florence for work and did not even invite him to join him.”
Asked if she thought if she was going to go to heaven or hell, the former pornographic actress replied: “Probably to heaven, because sex is not a sin, it is beautiful, pleasant. I love democracy and freedom, I am a pacifist. I’m like John Lennon, in a skirt.”
