Huge Vortex Spins In Sky Over Argentine Cities

This is the huge vortex which has been filmed spiralling high in the sky over a pair of Argentine cities.

The vortex was seen in the municipalities of Bernal and Quilmes, in the province of Buenos Aires in eastern Argentina, and the National Meteorological Service have confirmed it was not a tornado because “there was no evidence it hit the ground”.

The natural phenomenon was captured by onlookers who shared videos of it on social media after temperatures had risen to 33 degrees on Monday.

In the afternoon, dark clouds began forming and rainstorm suddenly hit the area.

In the video, the vortex can be seen hovering over the city connected to the dark clouds.

Another clip shows the vortex out at sea and residents in Bernal reported the presence of hailstones during the storm.

It is unclear if any damage was caused by the storm or if there were any injuries as a result.

Local media report the storm and heavy rains had been expected on Monday by the National Meteorological Service.
