This is the bizarre moment a woman is saved by her grandson when a step-ladder toppled over leaving her hanging from a roof.

The rescue happened when the grandmother tried to climb onto a roof above a courtyard entrance to recover a shuttlecock on 20th December.

But as she reached out to grab it, the ladder disappeared underneath her leaving her hanging by her fingertips, report local media in Zhejiang Province, eastern China.

CCTV footage of the rescue then shows her grandson – believed to be aged around five – struggling to push the ladder back up again.

At first it seems as if he will not make it, but then finally, he shouts “I can’t lift it up”, as he gets a grip and raises it into the air.

His gran then hooks it with her legs and then laughing with relief, climbs back down to the ground and safety.

She is then seen examining her hands and thanking her grandson for preventing further injury.

The video gained a lot of comments on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok with ‘distance’ saying: “The child shouted that he couldn’t lift it up, but he never gave up his hand. The spirit and perseverance are praiseworthy.”
