This is the moment firefighters help a pensioner out of a roadside service hole after he fell in while trying to pee.

The accident happened on the morning of 11th March in the city of Huainan, which is East China’s Anhui Province.

The elderly resident, whose name has not been given, came across the 14-foot-deep roadside service well while out exercising that morning, the fire service said.

The pensioner wanted to relieve himself and decided to learn against a wooden advertisement board.

The advert fell down the hole, and the senior citizen tumbled in after it.

Local authorities found the pensioner at the bottom of the service well after being called by a witness.

Footage of the rescue shows a ladder being placed down the hole, after which firemen are sent down to secure a safety rope around the man’s waist.

He then climbs out to safety moments later.

The fire service said the pensioner was taken to hospital for treatment of his minor injuries.

He did not suffer any bone fractures during the fall.
