This non-plussed pooch could apparently not be less interested as humans gather round him and snap photos after dressing him in a traditional Mexican outfit.

Polita the dog was snapped by Facebook user ‘J. Gamaliel Mendoza’ in the municipality of Ticul located in the southern Mexican state of Yucatan and the post has been widely shared by netizens.

Mendoza uploaded photos of Polita wearing a huipil garment typically worn by indigenous women from central Mexico to Central America.

Mendoza wrote on Facebook: “The pooch was wearing a huipil on the streets of Ticul so she does not freeze. It is worth sharing this to make it go viral.

“The dog has owners and is not a stray as local media reported. She is well looked after and loved. She sometimes escapes, but that is normal as she is a little naughty as these animals often are.”

The dog’s owner Veronica Chi told local media: “Because it is chilly outside, we recently changed her clothes. She has a huipil for when she is outside and different ones for indoors.”

According to local media, the cute pooch lives with her owners and her two brothers, Mia and Beto, as well as mummy dog Atenea.
