This is the moving moment a whole block of flats claps from their balconies to welcome their neighbour home after she won her fight against coronavirus.

The clip was shot in the neighbourhood of Triana in the city of Seville in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain on Palm Sunday and shows the moved woman getting out of an ambulance as people applaud and cry, and music plays in the background.

In the video, an ambulance can be seen arriving in front of the block of flats and as the door is opened, the residents can be heard clapping from their balconies.

Traditional music played during Spain’s Easter parades can be heard as the residents continue clapping the woman to welcome her home.

The woman, whose name has not been reported, walks through the courtyard slowly as and waves at her neighbours as they shout and clap.

The footage was shared by the woman’s niece Elisa Lasso and has been viewed 105,800 times on social media.

Lasso wrote on Twitter: “My aunt has been in hospital with coronavirus. Yesterday on Palm Sunday she was sent home. That is how she was received in Triana. Incredible, I got goosebumps.”

According to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University, there are 136,675 cases of coronavirus confirmed in Spain with 13,341 deaths and 40,437 recoveries.
