This is the moment a mother of six children sneaks into a hospital and dumps her latest seventh child inside a crib in a hospital waiting room before fleeing the scene.

The footage which was shot in the town of Ust Labinsk which is in the Russian Krasnodar Krai region shows a woman wearing a baseball cap in an apparent bid to try and cover her face from the cameras approaching the entrance to the hospital.

She is carrying a crib in which the baby girl was reportedly lying, and after making sure no one is around, she is then seen sneaking inside.

In a second video clip taken from a camera in the room, she walks carefully across the floor before placing the crib containing the child on the bench, and without a backward glance leaves the hospital.

The footage was posted online by the public relations department by investigators in the Krasnodar Territory where a spokesman told Central European News (CEN) that the mother had since been identified, and that she was a 33-year-old mother of six.

They said that the woman was struggling with her existing children, aged between 18 months and 14 years, and that she could no longer afford to meet the financial burden of the children she already had.

Social workers confirmed that the family were registered with them as being a large family on a low income, but gave no further details.

The baby girl is currently remaining at the hospital where a spokesman said that doctors had examined the child, which was a little girl, and added: “There are currently no threats to the life and health of the baby. Doctors are looking after her.”

The images attracted widespread comments from those who either condemned the woman for abandoning the child against those who said she clearly had no choice and urging more to be done to help her family.

Commentator Vladimir Dubovitsky said: “Some people have the courage to abort” while Irina Sadikova said: “It is better than simply throwing it in the rubbish bin.”
