Mum Forgets Handbrake And Watches In Horror As Car With 3 Kids Rolls Into Ditch And Flips Over

This is the moment a mother reverses straight into a parked car before jumping out and leaving the handbrake off, causing the vehicle to plummet into a ditch with her three kids inside.

The bungled parking attempt was filmed in the neighbourhood of Mariano Matamoros in the city of Tijuana in the Mexican state of Baja California, and the footage has been widely circulated by local media this week.

In the video, the woman is seen struggling to get the car into gear before attempting to reverse into a huge parking area.

While reversing, she fails to line up next to the kerb by some distance and instead slams into a parked vehicle.

She gets out to inspect the damage, but either forgets to put on the handbrake or, if it is an automatic car, left the vehicle in drive.

The car speeds down the slope with her three children inside and hits another parked vehicle before plummeting into a ditch and flipping over.

Meanwhile, the woman runs after the car while trying to keep her leggings up.

The mother’s three children were safely removed from the crashed vehicle with only cuts and scrapes, according to the news site Excelsior.

When the police arrived on the scene, the woman reportedly argued with officers.

It is unclear if she is being investigated over the incident.

Excelsior said the footage sparked debate on social media and many netizens speculated whether the mother had been driving under the influence of alcohol.
