This is the moment a young boy moves his mother’s stool just as she briefly gets to her feet to grab something, resulting in her falling to the floor and landing hard on her back.

The incident was filmed in the city of Lianyungang in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu on 4th January, and the footage has been widely viewed on the social network Douyin, which is what TikTok is known as in China.

According to the news site Baidu, three women were carrying out manual work when the boy decided he wanted the stool his mother was sitting on.

In the CCTV footage, the boy is seen stacking a stool on top of another before apparently looking for a third to add to the pile.

He walks over to the two women seated at the table and eyes up both their stools.

The young lad grabs hold of his mother’s stool just as she gets to her feet to reach for something on the table, and pulls it away.

The young woman falls backwards and lands hard on the floor before grimacing and holding her back in pain.

Her colleague looks around, wondering what happened, and then sees the boy next to his mother’s stool.

She fails to suppress a smile when she looks at the cheeky lad and then helps the mother as the video ends.

One Douyin user recalled: “I did this when I was a kid. I was scolded so bad I never dared do it again!”
