This young wedding-photographer couple has been killed in a horrific car crash on the motorway.

Janison Luis Assis da Silva and Jessica Cazuza Assis, both aged 29, died in the accident on the BR-010 motorway between the municipalities of Ulianopolis and Paragominas in the Brazilian state of Para on the Tuesday morning (4th January).

The young couple was travelling to their home city of Goiania in the state of Goias when the accident happened, and they became trapped in their vehicle, having to be prized from the wreckage by firemen who were called to the scene.

According to the traffic police, the couple’s subcompact car veered onto the wrong side of the road and was hit head-on by a subcompact crossover SUV.

A photo taken at the scene shows how the first car’s bonnet was completed destroyed by the impact.

A man named as Dhyemson Souza Luiz, who was behind the wheel of the Hyundai HB20 the couple was travelling in, was also killed. His age and relationship to the couple is unclear.

Four people were travelling in the other vehicle, a Honda HR-V, and one female, named as Celize Soares Lima, age not reported, died after she was rescued.

The four victims’ bodies were taken to a morgue.

The deceased couple both worked as wedding photographers. Their Instagram page ‘jamjesswedding’ had over 8,200 followers at the time of writing.

They also had another Instagram page for their lifestyle photography, which had 11,300 followers at the time of writing.

Their followers have been giving their condolences.
