Mum Confesses To Poisoning Missing Son With Medication

This mother has reportedly confessed to poisoning her missing 11-year-old son with strong medication before wrapping up his body in a sheet and dumping it in a house.

Youngster Rafael Mateus Winques had been missing for 10 days before his body was found in a house in the town of Planalto in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul and his mother Alexandra Dougokenski has now been arrested.

Local media report Rafael was reported missing by his mother on 16th May after she woke up to find her son was not in his bed. His mother said at the time that she had left the youngster in his room to sleep and woke to find him missing.

She said that the front door of the house was ajar and investigators initially believed he had run away from home.

However, on 22nd May forensic officers found blood in the home where he lived with his mother and his 16-year-old brother, as well as in the car of his stepfather. The blood has been sent for analysis and the results have not yet been reported.

The youngster’s body was then found on 25th May wrapped in a sheet in the family’s old home in the same area, according to the police.

The mother was arrested and reportedly confessed that her son had died after she gave him strong medication, admitting that she had then moved his body, according to reports.

The mother said her son suffered from emotional problems and so she decided to give him the strong medication, the name of which was not revealed.

Local police chief Nadine Anflor said the case appears to be “culpable homicide” but the charges will be clarified.

Anflor said she had applied for the mother to be held in preventive prison as the investigation continues.
