A multibillionaire heiress and ex-owner of English Championship football club Southampton has married her salesperson boyfriend in a private wedding ceremony.
The Saints’ ex-owner Katharina Liebherr, married her partner Mustafa Chaban, at the luxurious 5-star Dolder Grand resort on Saturday, 7th October.
Chaban, who is the head of the Dior branch in Zurich, Switzerland, and the 45-year-old owner of one of the world’s leading machine tool manufacturers first met in a luxurious store a few years ago.
A source close to the family revealed that Liebherr was reportedly shopping and sought advice from the Syrian native, after which the couple instantly kicked it off.
Chaban, who has reportedly been living in Switzerland since 2014 when he started working for Dior at Bahnhofstrassse, holds a degree in Interior design from Damascus, Syria.
According to his LinkedIn profile, he has been in the fashion sector since 2005. In the past, he has worked in the Dubai Mall in Dubai, UAE.
Media revealed that guests at the wedding included celebrities such as German Vice Chancellor and Federal Finance Minister Philipp Roesler, 50, and ex-hockey coach Ralph Krueger, 64.
It was not disclosed how many guests were present, and the couple has not commented on the ceremony yet.
Liebher inherited a GBP 3 billion fortune left by her father German-born Swiss businessman Markus Liebherr before he died of a heart attack at the age of 65 in 2010.
The Swiss businesswoman was the Saint’s owner until she sold an 80 per cent stake to Chinese businessman Gao Jisheng in 2017.
