This is the moment two London-style thieves on a moped steal fleece the belongings a young couple strolling on the pavement in under 30 seconds.
The incident was filmed in the municipality of Azcapotzalco in the central Mexican capital Mexico City, and the footage was later shared on social media by neighbourhood association ‘Todos Somos Azcapotzalco’ where it has been viewed over 25,000 times.
In the video, a moped with two riders is seen mounting the pavement and speeding towards a young couple walking on the street.
The moped blocks off any possible escape routes for the couple and a man jumps off the back and starts demanding that the victims hand over their belongings.
The second rider stays on the bike, but moves forwards slightly and goes off-camera.
The woman is seen handing over her purse shortly before they both appear to give the thief their phones.
The woman then says something to the man who reacts by telling them to move on.
The thief walks off-screen as the couple continues along the pavement.
It is unclear if the assailants used a weapon during the robbery, which took place in under 30 seconds.
The local authorities have yet to confirm whether they are investigating the incident.
Local media said that robberies like this are common in the area as there is a lack of proper street lighting and security.
