This is the moment a lightning-fast dad stops a flowerpot from toppling on his toddler’s head.

The ‘dad save’ was filmed at the family home in the coastal metropolis of Tianjin in north-eastern China on 21st August, and the footage has been widely shared by netizens on the social network Douyin, also known as TikTok.

The dad named only as Mr Li whose age was also not given said that he saw his toddler playing near a flowerpot stand in the corner of the room, and told the tot to move away.

He then saw that his child had unbalanced the tall table, sending the flowerpot toppling towards his little head.

The footage shows the man springing forward to catch the flowerpot in the nick of time.

The toddler, apparently scared by his dad’s rapid save, lets out a panicked cry, but the man picks him up to reassure him as his mum shows up to also give him a cuddle.
