After a brief pause, the man dives head-first into the chilly Neva River.

His head then appears above the surface and he starts swimming with the current.

According to reports, the police are still trying to identify the man in the footage.

Eyewitnesses said he left items of clothing and his documents on the bridge.

An unnamed woman told local media that he appeared drunk and that he had a bottle of alcohol with him before he jumped.

However, the man’s identity is still unknown as is his current condition. The investigation continues.

Netizen ‘Natalya Chvykova’ commented: “All the passersby seem to not care about him. No one stopped or did anything.”

Social media user ‘Andrey Tretyak’ said: “That bridge is so high. Not many guys would have been brave enough to dive in from there, even if drunk.”
