This is the chilling moment a dad hugs one of his two children after reportedly slitting their mother’s throat in front of them, leaving her lying in a pool of blood on the ground.

The dramatic incident took place outside the entrance to a block of flats in the city of Chita located in the south-eastern Russian region of Zabaykalsky Krai.

Reports said that the unnamed 46-year-old father attacked his wife in front of their two children at around 7pm.

He is accused of stabbing her several times before slitting her throat, leaving her lying in a pool of blood in the front of the building’s entrance.

An onlooker filmed the chilling moment the suspect walks away from the bleeding, motionless body on the ground and gives one of his children a hug.

An elderly woman appears to lead the alleged killer away from the scene and the local authorities are trying to establish her identity.

In the next scene, the victim’s two children walk over to her motionless body.

Witnesses said the distraught youngsters were crying loudly as they remained beside their dead mum.

Meanwhile, the suspect was arrested by the police several hours later, according to reports.

The motive for the alleged attack is currently unclear.
