This is the moment a raging bull gores two people during a Spanish street event -killing a 59-year-old man.

The incident was filmed in the municipality of Chiva in the eastern Spanish region of Valencia during the ‘Torico de la Cuerda’ running of the bulls event which continues until 19th August.

According to local media, the victim, identified as Vicente Asensio Martinez, was gored twice in the abdomen and leg and died on the way to hospital.

Footage shows the bull charging at a group of people in a doorway and goring a man in a red top.

A heavyset man in a blue top, identified in reports as Asensio Martinez, appears to trip over the bull while trying to escape the doorway and ends up on the ground.

While lying on the pavement, the rampant bull attacks the 59-year-old man and drags him across the road for several metres.

According to reports, the first man to be gored was taken to hospital where he was treated and released the same day.

Asensio Martinez reportedly worked for the Sanchis Bergon-Turia Commission and colleagues sent messages of condolences on social media.

One message said: “We will always remember you Vicente. For anyone who knew you, it was a privilege to share and enjoy your company.”

Commission President Juanjo Farinas said that the victim has three daughters who live in Valencia and he was visiting Chiva on holiday.

Despite the tragedy, the event was not cancelled and the city council announced two minutes of silence to honour Asensio Martinez.

The council added that the event “had all the security measures and insurance required by law”.

It is unclear what happened to the bull after the incident but the event’s website says the animals are returned to their breeders after the festival.
