This is the moment a 15-year-old boy is sent flying off a jet ski after he crashes it into a boat at a popular Caribbean beach leaving him seriously injured.

The incident took place at the Playa Blanca beach in the Cartagena Department on Colombia’s Caribbean coast.

In the video, a jet ski with a passenger being driven by the teenage boy can be seen speeding in front of bathers when it crashes into a stationary boat.

The boy is sent flying into the water in front of the beachgoers and local media report he was seriously injured in the incident.

He was reportedly taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been released. Reports state an onlooker rushed to stop the out-of-control jet ski from crashing into bathers after the incident.

Local media report that at least four accidents have been reported in the sea this holiday season caused by tourist services not being regulated.

Last week, a family who was on holiday in Cartagena were crashed into by an oncoming boat when they were on a float in the bay of the island of Tierrabomba.

The accident caused Julian Casasbuenas to rupture his jaw and he bemoaned the reported lack of lifeguards in the area.
