Police in America have seized a man who smuggled items including cannabis, tobacco, and, bizarrely, chicken wings into a prison through a broken window.
According to jailing information seen by Newsflash, Michael Anthony Dixon of Atlanta, Georgia, has since been charged with ‘crossing state/county guard lines with weapons, intoxicants, drugs without consent’, ‘criminal trespass’, ‘possession of marijuana, more than an ounce’, and ‘possession of cocaine with intent to distribute’.
Dixon, 45, was arrested while carrying a Stanley knife outside DeKalb County Jail in Decatur on 3rd February.
When deputies from DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office searched the vicinity, they found amid a bush a large bag filled with cooked chicken wings, sweets, marijuana, cocaine, loose tobacco, more than a dozen packs of cigarettes, lighters, mobile phones, phone chargers, jewellery, earphones, Allen keys, and glue.
He now finds himself on the inside of the same jail on remand.
Local media quoted Chief Deputy Randy Akies as saying: “Our ‘Eyes in the Sky’ operation continues to be effective this year, as we foil attempts by inmates and their co-conspirators on the outside to get illegal and potentially dangerous items inside the jail.
“The safety of the intended recipients and others in our custody and on our staff is threatened by this practice, and Sheriff Maddox has made it clear that it will not be tolerated. Offenders will be prosecuted within the full extent of the law.”
