This is the moment a man’s footwear flies in the air after he walks through a park while glued to his phone and tumbles straight into a water fountain with a splash.

The funny scene was filmed in the city of Xichang in the Chinese province of Sichuan.

In the footage, the man, name not reported, is seen walking through the park on a rainy day while carrying a bag.

Apparently engrossed in his phone, the man does not raise his head as he continues walking through the park towards the fountain.

He walks straight into the low wall and falls forwards into the fountain, sending both his white trainers flying through the air.

The man lands headfirst in the water with a splash before reappearing and tossing his sodden bag onto dry land.

Several passersby check on the man as he gets out of the fountain and starts to walk through the park in the direction in which he came.

While strutting through the park in his wet clothes, the man holds his wet bag and presumably damaged phone in both hands.

Reports did not say whether the man’s phone was permanently damaged or whether he required medical care for any cuts or scrapes.
