A woman who rammed her boyfriend’s ex with her car before speeding down the road with her on the bonnet is facing murder charges.
Accused Jussara Nadiny Cardoso Paixao, 24, is said to have attacked her partner’s old flame after a blazing row in a bar.
After drenching Libia Tavares dos Santos, 29, with beer, Paixao followed her victim as she stormed out of the bar in the municipality of Santarem, Para State, on 22nd February.
Libia drove off with her sister and friends, but Paixao followed her in her car honking the horn loudly, say police.
And when Libia stopped to confront her, Paixao rammed her at high speed.
As Libia was scooped up onto the car’s bonnet, Paixao raced down the street for 300 metres braking sharply and sending Libia head first into the tarmac.
Emergency services were called, but Libia died on her way to hospital.
University graduate Paixao was arrested and held in pre-trial custody by police.
Under questioning, she told Civil Police she rammed Libia because she was afraid she, her sister, and her pals would attack her.
She denied purposely pursuing the university student in her car.
Police interviewed the man at the centre of the deadly row.
He told officers he had once been in a four-year casual relationship with Libia a while ago and said he had dated Paixao just once.
The case is ongoing.
