Little Girl Pulled From Wreckage With Pregnant Mother And Father

As search and rescue teams battle to find survivors, one good news story involves the rescue of a little girl as well as a pregnant mother and her father who were saved alive from the rubble of the building.

The news that the family survived is one success story in the Turkish province of Hatay where thousands of people in search and rescue teams are attempting to find and save those still trapped and alive.

Images show little Umay, her pregnant mother and her father as they were pulled from the rubble together after Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) search and rescue teams sent by the Disaster And Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) reached the province at midnight.

Images show the IMM teams removing the pregnant woman, her husband and their little girl named Umay from the wreckage and the good news was then shared by IMM President Ekrem İmamoglu.

Sharing a post at the hour when the teams reached Hatay at midnight connecting February 6 to February 7, İmamoğlu said, “IMM search and rescue teams are in the disaster area. Our first team that reached Hatay saved 8 of our citizens from the wreckage. We currently have a team of 100 people in Hatay. Our team of 108 people from G.Antep and 100 people from Adana is about to reach Hatay.

“Tonight, a team of 100 people is leaving from Istanbul.”

He added: “My beautiful daughter Umay, your salvation warmed us up a little bit. The good news is coming from our rescue teams in Hatay. Our reinforcement teams are also on the way.”
