Two lazy police officers have been arrested after a teacher called the emergency services saying she was being murdered by a schoolgirl – and when nobody answered the door – the pair simply left.

The teachers attacker, a 17-year-old schoolgirl who claims she was on drugs, had now admitted carrying out the killing which happened in April of this year.

It was revealed that when the teacher had made the phone call to the emergency services, a second female voice had then come on the line and claimed to be the first caller’s aunt, before the line went dead.

Police were dispatched and arrived minutes later, but when nobody answered the door at her house in the Villa Mitre neighbourhood of the city of Salta, in the northwestern Argentina province of the same name, they had simply left without checking further.

It was more than a day later on 28th of April this year that the body of Rosa del Milagro Sulca, 48, was found. She had been stabbed 17 times.

The teenage girl not named because of her age was arrested, and this week confessed to the crime, claiming that she had been under the influence of drugs at the time. She also initially said that her boyfriend, Pablo Ezequiel Veron, had been with her for the killing although she later changed her story to say that she had been alone.

Police confirmed that the teacher had called and requested help, saying that she was being murdered before the mystery second voice came on the line saying everything was okay. It is suspected that this was the girl.

After the murder was discovered, the two police officers identified as Antonio Exequiel Sanhueso and Juan Carlos Vizgarra were arrested and charged with the crime of failing to fulfil their duties and abandonment resulting in death.

The police commissioner Fabio Tolaba, who was in charge of the emergency service, was also faced with the same charges.

An autopsy confirmed that the teacher had been stabbed 17 times and also had injuries caused by blows to her head and slashing injuries on other parts of the body.

The investigation is ongoing.
