LAST MOMENTS OF SEA STORM VICTIM: Woman’s Phone Footage Before Boat Capsized Killing Six

These are the last moments of a woman who drowned when the fishing boat she and 13 others were on capsized crossing a Brazilian bay in a heavy storm.

At the time of reporting, six of the 14 on board had been confirmed dead, while firefighters are still searching for two others unaccounted for.

The first piece of footage shows victim Michele Bayerl de Moraes de Sena filming herself and the calm blue sea before the storm hit Rio de Janeiro on 5th February.

A second piece of footage was filmed by fisherman Mateus Diniz from a boat that survived the storm.

It shows brooding storm clouds and choppy seas in Guanabara Bay before heavy rain reduces visibility to just a few yards.

The dead have been identified as two men, two women, a teenager, and a three-year-old child.

A dog also perished in the storm.

The first victim is pet groomer Everson Costa de Assuncao, 45. He leaves behind three children. His wife, 46-year-old Ana Paula de Souza, is among the survivors.

The second is Juliana Gomes de Lana da Silva, 35. Her husband, 38-year-old Erick Pereira da Silva, is also among the survivors.

The third is 43-year-old Michele, who filmed the first piece of footage.

Her daughter Larissa, 23, recalled: “She texted me at 3pm, asking about my son, if he was okay. I said he was with me, and then she didn’t say anything else.”

The fourth victim is Michele’s husband, 55-year-old Evandro Jose de Sena.

The fifth is Eduardo Borges da Silva Correa aged 14.

And the sixth is three-year-old Caio Gomes da Silva, who is victim Juliana’s son.

The tragedy happened as the small vessel was returning from a trip to Jurubaiba Island.

Local media reported that in addition to the heavy rain, there were strong winds at the time.

The six survivors avoided death by clinging to the hull after the boat capsized, said reports.

They were picked up by a passing vessel and given first aid.

The missing have been named as Fabio Dantas Soares, 46, and 38-year-old Isabel Cristina de Souza Borges.

The survivors are 43-year-old Ana Nilda dos Santos Soares, 45-year-old boat owner Marcos Paulo da Silva Correia, two boys aged 10 and 14, and Ana Paula and Erick.
